Waterwheel Powered-Beat-Sequencer:One of our latest creations, the Waterwheel Beat Sequencer uses a waterwheel-powered turn-table and light sensors to read black and white drawings created by the audience. The shapes in the drawings are turned into a rhythmic pattern by the machine. For a full explanation on how it does so, have a look here. In an events context we run this machine as a curiosity sideshow....its like a hand-drawn early-late cousin of the record! We sometimes have an organ to jam along with the 'drawn' percussion -which steers the experience in a musical direction.
This was originally created for an educational workshop and is available as such on request. We expect to have a a separate educational page up in the near future. |

Audience Interactive Sonic Shoot-Em-Up
A game in which we choose two feisty members of the audience, strap them into the suits and shamelessly incite them into a bare-knuckle sound fight. Strapped together at the waist, the adversaries cannot flee as, with the help of the audience, they record rib-cracking blood-curdling fighting sounds onto their body patches. We let them at each other with Ennio Moricones The Good, The Bad and The Ugly as a backing-track – the audience keeps score, and Amundsen and Slade referee as the sonic carnage unfolds. |
Custom Themed ShowsWith samples being our stock-in-trade the suits easily lend themselves to custom themes of all sorts. Our favorite to date involved fusing Boris Johnson’s vocal bungling with Girls Aloud to create a one-off Sonic Sideshow serenade for the Borris Keep Your Promise campaign. Whatever the occasion, whether serious or frivolous if you have an idea, get in touch! |
