About:
Since its formation in 2008 Sonic Sideshow has presented stage shows, interactive walkabouts and installations at galleries, events and festivals including Tate Modern, Barbican, Science Museum, V&A, Thames Festival, Glastonbury(Trash City), Bestival, Paradise Gardens, Carnyville and MuTate Britain, with corporate events for Bloomberg and British Vogue.
We have also delivered interactive, tech-art performance workshops in schools through the Royal Opera House's educational department and provided an interactive science communication installation for the Abu Dhabi Science Fair.
Originally our work was centered on our custom built "Sonic Soul Suits"- midi-triggered live-sampling costumes around which we built a series of interactive performance and live game sequences. This expanded over the years to include a range of other custom technology and creative developments. In recent years our focus has shifted to producing larger interactive events, including tech developments to immersive black-comedy Apocalypse Gameshow and the programming of a 3 month season of technology, sonic arts and gaming events on board the MS Stubnitz at Canary Wharf.
Sonic Sideshow was founded by Aste Amundsen and Nathaniel Slade and up until recently operated out of an old science laboratory near Waterloo. Other regular collaborators include Jack Tame and Paul Hanson.
